The Summify story: from ReadFu to Twitter

The news of Summify being acquired by Twitter is great news for Romanian entrepreneurs. It’s one more proof that you can be successful, coming from this part of the world. There’s a bit of a controversy on weather this was a good exit or not – check out Natasha’s post on Goal Europe. All debates on the exit strategy aside, it is undoubtedly recognition of the value the Summify team created.

Summify
just announced their recent acquisition by Twitter. The startup started in Romania, joined the Bootup Labs accelerator in Canada, moved to Vancouver and has gone through a couple of pivots. The final product, an application that creates a summary of the most important pieces of news shared on the user’s network, was launched in the summer of 2010.

was one of the main partners of How to Web 2011. We had the great opportunity of having both main S4S mentors as speakers at the conferenece. Doug Richard delivered one of the most appreciated keynote speeches and Marius Ghenea held the workshop with the most attendance rate on Early Stage Investments – we had to bring in extra chairs to the room! :)
